A welded carbon steel plancha (griddle) for use atop nearly any cooking flame. Perfect for a lifetime of hard use, over a open wood or charcoal fired pit, gas grill, or portable gas range. A generous working surface of just under 12” x 24”.
Three options for base thickness:
1/4” (6.4mm) carbon steel plate (standard)
-or-
5/16” (8 mm) carbon steel plate (heavy duty)
-or-
3/8” (9.5mm) carbon steel plate (super heavy duty)
The curb on three sides is 2” high, similar to our smaller modular hibachi grill planchas, and is welded to the base. Solid stainless steel handles at both ends, are welded in, and cannot be broken off, making it over 28” long. The bottom is flat and smooth, as is the cooking surface itself. This is a super durable handmade product, and will not crack like cast iron can. We make each one to order, by hand, in our Baltimore MD USA shop. These planchas cook as perfectly as an old seasoned iron pan, when properly conditioned. Season with fat or oil for best results (beef fat has proven to be perfect for this!)
To note: this plancha is not intended for use atop our stock line of hibachi grills, but can be used almost anywhere atop your choice of fire.
